Over the NZ winter months of June to September Kitesports & the SNOWKITE NZ team are running Snowkite-Lessons in the Cardrona Valley, Wanaka. With KITESPORTS vast experience in teaching (over 11 years) we can have any competent skier or snow boarder getting around on a hill under the power of a kite within the first day or two! The Cardrona Valley has New Zealand's best terrain for learning & mastering this awesome Adventure-Freedom sport! Package that & the latest snowkite equipment from Ozone Kites & you'll be ripping up the vast powder terrain snowkiting has to offer in no time at all...it's all about the freshies with Snowkiting!
Imagine..NO lifts, NO queues...carving UP a hill through vast amounts of untracked powder! Snowkiting is a safe low aspect snow sport, & one of the most accessible kite sports to learn...It's also getting labeled by those in the know, quote- "Better than Heli Sking!"
- Snowkite Day 1- starting from $235.(3hrs instruction in a group, or $299 for 'one on one' ) assess the wind & kite spot, rigging, setup, safety & kite control, getting traction, getting around on the hill on board or skis, affects of windward & leeward slopes on you & your kite.
- Snowkite Day 2- from $235.(3hrs instruction in a group or $299 for 'one on one') site assessment, rigging & setup, getting around on board or skis on the hill & working towards tackling steeper slopes, picking good lines on windward slopes & avoiding dead wind on leeward slopes..
- Experienced & want to just Hire gear- $150 for kite setup & harness
- NOTE: Access charges apply to freeriders at Snowfarm kite park. Sign in at office & pay $20 day pass to access POWDER HEAVEN!!
Transport & accommodation, X Christchurch to Wanaka return- we will be driving between Christchurch & Wanaka...jump onboard the FREE courtesy coach!
If you need accommodation, we stay at the the new YHA backpackers in Wanaka, or on the mountain at Snowfarm Lodge (POA). Also available are mountain Hutts, ski right to the door!!
Pickup is available X Christchurch Email Tim, or phone Ph. (+64) 021-542-770 to get a lift in the courtesy van when booking your lesson!
Weekly trips to Wanaka are 2 day (one night) & 3 day (two nights) depending on wind & weather. Also, you can meet us in Wanaka for day lessons as we have Instructors based in Wanaka!
