Knowing the windspeed is very important in kitesports - without that bit of knowledge you are unable to know which kite size to use on a given day, and it is almost impossible to compare one day to the next without this vital piece of information.
The Skywatch windmeters are the perfect tool for providing this information. All Skywatch windmeter models include:
- Balanced instant windspeed in km/h, m/s, knots, mph, or fps
- Maximum reading: 150 km/h, 42 m/s, 81 knots, 97 mph, 138 fps
- Backlight
- Stainless steel back
- Replaceable lithium battery
- Waterproof
- Operation temperature: -20C to 70C
- Accuracy according to Swiss standards
This is the most basic version and comes with all the items listed above.
You may want to consider upgrading to the next models if you want any of the following features: Increased temperature operation window to -40C to 80C, wind chill factor calculation (these are included in Skywatch Xplorer 2), Electronic compass in degrees (2's features plus this item are available on Skywatch Xplorer 3), and Absolute pressure from 300-1100hPa, Relative pressure with calibration, weather forecast with barometric pressure tendencies, and altitude with calibration definition: 1 meter/3 feet with a maximum altitude of 8000 meters (all features available are only found on Skywatch Xplorer 4).
